The Grenada Collection

The Grenada Collection 2013

The Grenada Collection will launch at City and Islington College and feature established work being taken to Grenada alongside new work that has been developed for the new expanding company.

Breeze Easy was originally created for Connecting Vibes USA. Choreographed by Beverley Glean, the work represents a fusion of contemporary and traditional movement demonstrating the flow, versatility and grounding inherent in the movement language of the Caribbean.

Waiting For… Some people wait forever for the “Big Moment”, the “Once in a Lifetime Opportunity”, while others refuse to wait preferring instead to take destiny in their own hands.

No Lasagne takes a humorous look at our everyday and potentially life changing choices. How much would you sacrifice to reach your goal?

Jump Up is an energetic and fun Calypso piece.

Without Borders – facing multiple questions and choices the traveller must decide whether to go forward or return to the safety of home.

What Cannot Done is dedicated to the late Jenny Harris (1944-2012). Iinspired by Ben Okri’s poem “Begin With a Leap”. It is in part a prayer as well as a celebration of the strength and sense of purpose Jenny instilled in all those who came in contact with her. The title is taken from singer & songwriter Rachel Bennett’s composition, which was specially written for this work.

It’s A Fine Line – a moment that stops you in your tracks and strikes you with an unknown certainty that things will never be the same again by company member Tendu Nafia Bukenya.
