Audition for Dance Foundation Degree Program at Moonshot Centre

The final audition this year for the Dance Foundation Degree will take place at 10:00am on Thursday 12 September at Moonshot Centre.

The Dance Foundation Degree program is a partnership between IRIE! dance theatreCity and Islington College and London Metropolitan University.

Curriculum

Students study African Dance, Caribbean Dance, Ballet and Contemporary Dance forms supported by Choreography, Arts Management and Dance History. The course is work-orientated with students engaging in placement opportunities with leading dance companies, schools and community centres.

Progression Opportunities

There is also the opportunity for Dance Foundation Degree students will also have the opportunity to audition for connectingvibes* – a company for artists at the beginning of their career which works in partnership with IRIE! dance theatre and the course providing students with a wealth of performance opportunities. Upon completeing the Dance Foundation Degree students can progress to a third year to complete a BA(HONS) degree at the University of East London. Other options for progression Kingston and Winchester University and the BA in Professional Practice Course at Middlesex University.

Graduates have found employment with IRIE! dance theatre, as freelance artists and directors of their own companies.

Funding

Students who need funding for this foundation degree program can apply for a loans from  Student Finance England.
