A Very Big Thank You!

in Fundraising, Performance

connectingvibes* would like to say a big thank you to all our supporters who helped us reach our target goal on the PleaseFund.Us website. In fact with a few hours to spare we exceeded our target of £5,000 and reached £5,100.

The last few months have been hectic but also overwhelming as the final total of donors came to 86 with some people giving cash donations. There were also many members of staff at City and Islington College who supported the dancers as they set up a lunchtime cake stall and organised a party with entrance fees. Aside from these activities they worked hard to gather support from family and friends. It has been a good and positive period and has helped us a company to publicise our work more broadly.

We will shortly be arranging our performances at Moonshot Centre for the company H.A. Marks and private donors who requested a performance by the company, to be held at the Moonshot Centre in New Cross, home to IRIE! dance theatre and a rehearsal base for connectingvibes*.

Nickolove Lovemore from IRIE! dance theatre kept the campaign moving with her Facebook posts and management of the updates, approaching the campaign with tireless energy, for which we are eternally grateful. It is reassuring to be supported by a company such as IRIE! dance theatre with whom we have worked in partnership since the company’s inception in 2000.

Rewards

All supporters who contributed to the campaign will receive an email giving details of the rewards. In terms of the T-shirt’s you need to respond with your size preference and delivery address and let us know what performance, rehearsal or class you would like to attend. We look forward to seeing you model our T-shirts and meeting you all at one of our events.

Where we are now?

This feels like we have got over the first hurdle and now need to continue to work hard on the programme for the launch on the 24/25 April 2013 and the appearance at the National Dance Festival of Grenada, 29 May-1 June 2013.

Over the coming months there are still funds to be raised and we will set up a facility on this website for further campaigns and merchandise.

So finally a Big Thank You to all and here’s to 2013 which promises to be the most exciting to date for connectingvibes*.
